Lauren Elolf joined BASi as a Business Development Manager in July 2018 where she manages sales for the in-vivo product line and oversees BASi’s distributor network. She brings over eight years of sales, marketing, and technical support of preclinical laboratory equipment including stereotaxic instruments, video tracking software, surgical supplies, and behavior apparatuses. Lauren has considerable experience negotiating international contracts, and has successfully managed distributor accounts in Australia, Japan, Canada, and throughout Europe.
Lauren earned a Ph.D. in Biomedical Sciences with a concentration in Pharmacology and Neuroscience from the University of North Texas Health Science Center in Fort Worth, Texas. Her undergraduate and Master’s degrees in Health Sciences laid the groundwork for her Ph.D. thesis, Evaluating the effects of obesity on brain behavior and visual function. Aside from an incident that involved a broken-down elevator with 60 mice and many failed Western Blots, Lauren transitioned from academia to industry to help researchers find quality products that generate better data and prioritize the three R's in their development. Lauren is excited to have found this at BASi, and is passionate about helping clients design better studies with our neuroscience products.
Since 2016, Lauren has served on the advisory board for CHIentist, a non-profit organization helping scientists connect with peers and professionals in Chicago and the surrounding area. She has also been on the advisory board for Bioscience Project and was a Professional Board Member and Dog Town Volunteer at PAWS Chicago.
Channeling her creative side, Lauren authored and published a children’s book entitled Baby & Me: A Book of Sibling Memories, in 2016. She currently lives in Washington, D.C., with her husband and two Yorkies, Issy and Winston.
