Platinum Wire Auxiliary Electrodes

Platinum wire auxiliary electrodes (0.5 mm diameter) are available in a variety of lengths. The electrode of choice depends upon the type of BASi® cell (and the experiment), as listed below. Each platinum wire terminates in a gold-plated brass connector. Electrical connection to this pin can be made using either an alligator clip or a 0.040" gold-plated connector (MF-2000).

What are the requirements for the auxiliary electrode?

Does the auxiliary electrode need to be isolated from the working electrode?
